ITE adopts STARTTM, an integrated circuit development environment for memory testing and repairing

(ITE, TW-3014) adopts STARTTM, an integrated circuit development environment for memory testing and repairing. Furthermore, the Stand-Alone SRAM repairing, a total solution of START™ Soft-Repair, can support memories without spare memory to realize memory repairing design. Clients just need to pay small area, but it can help clients increase yield rate and reduce development cost.

STARTTM, a tool-based solution, can automatically generate and introduce built-in memory testing and repairing circuit in cilents’ design. Meanwhile, the generated circuit area is small, and iSTART also provides customized functions to meet clients’ particular requirements. Moreover, soft repair of STARTTM uses unused SRAM as the backup memory required for memory repairing. Further, it does not need additional non-volatile memory and control circuit to store repair-related setting information, which saves areas of a chip. That explains why the chip performance do not be limited by access speed of non-volatile memory.
