iSTART-TEK (iSTART, TW-6786), a leading developer of memory testing and repairing technologies, declared that ITE Tech. Inc. (ITE, TW-3014) adopted its STARTTM, an integrated circuit development environment for memory testing and repairing. The STARTTM solution uses Soft-Repair technology that supports standalone SRAM to repair a damaged memory. No additional spare memory is required, and it does not increase the cost of the chip. In addition, the circuit area is smaller, which can help customers improve yield and reduce development costs.

STARTTM, a tool-based solution, can automatically generate and introduce built-in memory testing and repairing circuits with small areas in clients’ designs. iSTART also provides customized functions to meet clients’ particular requirements. Moreover, Soft Repair of STARTTM uses the unused SRAM as the backup memory required for memory repairing. It does not need an additional non-volatile memory and control circuit to store repair-related setting information, which saves the areas of a chip. That explains why the chip performance is not limited by the access speed of a non-volatile memory.

Moreover, iSTART’s products are highly useful, and the graphical user interface (GUI) significantly enhances their user-friendliness. In this way, it can meet a wide range of requirements and assist clients to improve design efficiency and reduce development cost of chips with timely support from
